The center is a "reach back" capability for NATO Nations, Partners and Coalition Nations and similar bodies operating in an IED environment to provide them with timely and useful information. Part of Spanish Armed Forces, located in Madrid.
The C-IED COE wants to developing itself as the Out-of-Theatre Lessons Learned Coordinator. This task has been assigned to the COE by NATO through the NATO C-IED Action Plan. The NATO C-IED Information System (NCIEDIS) is a challenging initiative, which scope is to become a one-stop-shop for all info related information on Counter IED. It is a Voluntary National Contribution funded project and would include both CLASSIFIED and UNCLASS information.
Additionally, the COE will organize a C-IED Lessons Identified Workshop at the Centre facilities next December ‘12. The event will be a good opportunity for improvement and information sharing. More details about this event may be found in the
