The CDA Officer School is an institution providing education to military cadets and officer candidates , enabling students to perform basic officer duties. It also provides officer education, preparing students to perform junior command, staff and functional duties of all combat branches, combat support branches, services and military occupational specialities.
Officer School consists of Officer School HQ, Cadet Battalion and Training Battalion.
Officer School is responsible for implementation of the Cadet program, the so-called zero level of military education. The Cadet program is a system of civilian-military education designed for future CAF officers. It is organized in cooperation with institutions of higher education and other Croatian civilian institutions and as such, it is the first level of officer education.
Basic Officer Course is the first level of officer education. Its purpose is to enable students to acquire basic military professional knowledge and to gain an understanding of the capabilities and skills necessary to carry out the junior officer commanding duty – that of a platoon leader. It is comprised of Leadership Development Camp, general and specialist part, internship and a group final exercise.
Advanced Officer Course is the second level of progressive officer education preparing students to perform staff duties. Its purpose is to provide independent and group in-service training during which students use the acquired knowledge to plan, organize and conduct training in units of a particular branches/service/specialty in CAF services, commands and staff. It includes three modules: General Module, Module of Tactics and Doctrine of the branch/service/specialty and the Staff Operations Module.
